PRACTICAL DETAILS FOR YOUR NEXT STEP

Understand your care options.

Helpful details, clear questions and the information to prepare before making an arrangement.

01

Published shift choices

Stay-out care has a daily arrival and finish time. MCS lists six-hour shifts at RM3,500 per month, eight hours at RM4,000, ten hours at RM4,500 and twelve hours at RM4,800. The published pattern is six days per week, with an off-day replacement rate of RM200 per day.

02

Fit the shift around care tasks

List the activities needing support and when they happen: morning washing, breakfast, mobility assistance, lunch, company and evening routines. A six-hour shift may leave evening care to the family; a longer shift covers a different window. Write the start and finish times alongside the package rather than just selecting the number of hours.

03

Care between visits

A stay-out caregiver leaves at the agreed finish time. Family members or other agreed support need to cover evenings, nights and off days outside the shift. For a person who needs repeated overnight assistance, compare that requirement with live-in support or another specifically agreed arrangement.

04

Matching shift hours to daily priorities

The supplied stay-out options are six, eight, ten and twelve hours a day, six days per week. Select a time window around the tasks that matter most rather than simply the longest shift. Ask whether your requested start and finish times can be covered at the care address.

  • Choose the priority time window
  • Check caregiver travel availability
  • Confirm start and finish times
05

Handover before and after the shift

Plan who will receive the caregiver and who resumes responsibility when the shift ends. Explain the updates the family wants at handover, such as which agreed tasks were completed. If the person needs assistance outside booked hours, organise family help or discuss additional coverage in advance.

  • Arrange home access
  • Name the handover contact
  • Plan support outside the shift
06

Comparing monthly stay-out prices

The supplied monthly rates range from RM3,500 for six hours to RM4,800 for twelve hours, based on six days per week. Ask about the seventh day, public holidays, travel and duties before confirming. Extra hours or replacement cover should be quoted separately when applicable.

  • Compare hours and weekly days
  • Ask about additional coverage
  • Confirm the final monthly scope
